Listen.
The generous earth feeds and sustains.
Just as the warm rain comes
the fawn gives a glimpse of herself as she dances across my road.
At 7am the sleek glistening back of the minke whale
breaches the Cove’s calm waters.
The newborn’s grip, soft and gentle.
Young lovers smile.
And a whisper of thanks
as she closes her eyes one last time.
